Horror as Aesthetic

Dreams or our nightmares, both are primal. They don’t have to be reasonable.

I strive to capture that feeling in my artwork, the thin line between dream and wakefulness that makes us question reality, safety, agency, and our place in the world.

Artful Dreaming

horror and dark fantasy themes to create empowering or uncomfortable artwork in writing and in my paintings. I use acrylic pours for brainstorming: the act helps me tap into my unconscious expectations. My figurative paintings are less abstract, using the subject to connect with the viewer. My most structured artform is fiction, where is use horror and dark themes or imagery to make the reader question themselves, their reality, and their sense of justice.

My media of choice are watercolor, ink, alcohol marker, and acrylic. All have their own purposes and uses in my toolbox, and I’ll use whichever is most effective tor my subject.
