After discussing why making art in public is so important in this post, I thought it was a good idea to discuss some helpful tips for how to go about it. As someone who’s had to travel a lot lately, I wouldn’t be able to create as much without bringing art supplies along.
But it’s harder than it seems, figuring out exactly what to bring. Initially, I brought so much stuff that I didn’t use. I thought the more the better, but more often than not, more just means more to carry and sort through. When I packed too much, more often than not those things stayed in the hotel room, the car, or the airbnb instead of coming with me. I’ve ended up getting a lot of experience in this area through trial and error.
So, here’s the first in a series I’ll slowly add to over time about Travel Art. This one is about Copic markers, specifically choosing a focused palette for traveling. I hope you find it helpful.
