Description
The second in my Witches’ Familiars series featuring the cat. Cats have been worshipped as instruments or pets of the divine, but during the burning times they were often maligned as omens of evil. Persecution of cats and their sympathizers was so widespread in Christendom that it lead to the spread of plague. Joan Flowers and her daughters were tried for witchcraft in 1618 for, among all the supposed dark magic, feeding their pet cat Rutterkin.
Painting measures 12″ x 12″ on wrapped canvas. Hand titled and signed on the back. Colors glow under black light for a supernatural effect.
