Description
The third painting in my Witches’ Familiars series features the hare. European brown hares were singled out as being especially associated with witchcraft. The 1662 trial of Scottish lady Isobel Gowdie and the 1663 trial of Julian Cox each included an account of shapeshifting into a hare to evade watchful eyes.
Painting measures 12″ x 24″ on wrapped canvas. Hand titled and signed on the back. Colors glow under black light for a supernatural effect.
